'After completing four laps of the Showgrounds arena, the runners proceeded along Langs Rd to Epsom Rd, and then along Maribyrnong Rd past the Remount Depot and the ammunition works to the Ballarat Rd. The turning-point was near the 15-mile post of Ballarat Rd, from where the field returned over the same route.' SG
